Brainz Magazine - Why use a Note-taking App?

Do you ever wonder about where you take or keep your notes? Are you a physical note-taker because you like a pen and paper experience or do you prefer to keep them electronically?

There are so many options but personally I prefer to take my notes electronically (a) because mostly I can't read my own handwriting and (b) because I can keep up with what's coming out of my brain at any given moment!

Last year I did some research on which note-taking apps are available and which one I preferred. I had been using OneNote for some time by then but I thought I would give myself the benefit of the doubt and see if there was a better one out there. Turns out for me, OneNote is the only one that provided the deapth of functionality I needed!

In my most recent Brainz Magazine article I talk in deapth about what note-taking aps do, signs you might want to think about using one and 8 tricks to use one effectively.

I listed these six benefits of using OneNote:

  1. works on multiple operating systems and devices at the same time;
  2. has greater formatting capabilities;
  3. can contain much more content that any of the others I looked at;
  4. is fully searchable, even images that have words on;
  5. can be used both on- and offline; and
  6. has a voice recorder so you can dictate your notes.

to name a few and I am sure you will have a list of your own once you start using it.
